Meet the Owner
Dayna Shaw Sear
Dayna Shaw Sear has been teaching Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Pointe, Lyrical, Contemporary/Modern and Cecchetti for over 17 years as the owner of Dancer's Studio and as an instructor of dance at Clarion University in their Theatre Department. She has prepared many students for acceptance into college dance programs such as Pennsylvania School for the Arts, New York University at Buffalo, North Carolina School for the Arts, Penn State, and others, along with preparing young students for acceptance into such notable programs as The Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive Workshop, American Ballet Theater Summer Intensive Program, American School of Ballet Summer Intensive Program, The Joffery Ballet Company Summer Intensive Program, Anne Reinking's Broadway Theatre Project, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Mia Michaels Live in New York, The Limone Summer Intensive, and the Cecchetti International Summer School.
Her students can be seen dancing in shows such as The Radio City Rockette Christmas Spectacular, Cats National Tour, Sesame Street Live, Care Bears Live and Jubilee in Las Vegas. Her students have also won numerous competitive titles both nationally and statewide and she has won several prestigious choreography awards. She was the founder, and artistic and managing director of the Florence Memorial Ballet Company, is a guest teacher and judge for many chapters of Dance Masters of America across the country, and is a member of the Pennsylvania Committee of the Cecchetti Council of America. She has been on the board of directors of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania for the past eight years and is currently their Treasurer.
Dayna has a BS in Labor Economics from Allegheny College and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Clarion University, along with having a Certified Masters in Dance Direction from Dance Masters of America Teachers Training School, New York University at Buffalo. Dayna is currently working on her Masters of Arts in Arts Administration at Goucher University.
